BASE TENNIS PROGRAM - THE GATEWAY TO YOUR EUROPEAN TENNIS EXPERIENCE

We have numerous players from Germany, Australia, NZ, UK and USA basing themselves in Germany throughout the year in order to gain valuable European experience. Players can choose the program that suits them best, and even combine many programs during their time in Germany.
We have an open door policy, and like to support and work closely with the players’ coaching staff at home or other clubs in their pursuit of creating a top performance athlete.

The pathway

The program is designed to satisfied the needs of the player. A player can choose between two pathways: ‘’Tennis for life’’ or ‘’Road to college’’
BASE philosophy is to help people become the best they can be through the sport and a minimum hours of training are required to achieve it. BASE takes tennis seriously and meeting the standards of our program is non-negotiable because it is what we firmly believe.
Tennis for life is basically learning a game that would be a person’s hobby for the rest of his life.
Road to college is a pathway for those who choose to the involved in performance tennis.
Both pathways are completely fine but the end goals are very different.

‘’Tennis for life’’

EUROPE & THE RED CLAY

It is no secret that training and competing on red clay is fundamental to producing world class tennis players. Recent trends have shown that the majority of top 100 players both in the men’s and women’s game have spent their developmental phases (10-16 years of age) honing their skills on the red clay. Clay court forces young players to improve their footwork, consistency and stamina, and not to worry so much about hitting winners. It’s a better stepping stone than grass or hard courts to prepare player for the realities of the modern game. The European circuit is where the best talent congregates. That is why many federations and academies put together teams or look for venues in Europe where they can base themselves for many weeks in order to tackle the European circuit. Germany has a rich tradition in tennis, and its infrastructure and geography make it an ideal location for players wishing to compete against the best players Europe has to offer. The tournament structure is very much an ‘open door policy’. Competition includes club tennis, ITF’s and Tennis Europe, as well as strong local money tournaments attracting players from all over the world. This makes it easy for our staff to ensure visiting players compete in tournaments that are the right level for them.
