Base Tennis features wide-ranging programs from beginner to elite levels and offers individualised programs and tennis camps all of which follow our unique development program.
From Base Tennis’s highly acclaimed facilities, players and their coaches can enjoy the relaxed environment whereby courts are available for their exclusive use. Base Tennis also provides a base from where individuals or teams can move about easily to follow the European competition phase of their program(s) hassle free.

Behind the Scenes
RODNEY RAPSON, Company Director
After leaving his Australian home at 18 to pursue a career in tennis, Rodney has had the opportunity to travel the world and gain numerous and valuable experiences. He spent 5 years in the U.S completing his Bachelor of Science degree, making the Dean’s List and Presidents List twice. He was an All OVC Commissioner Academic medalist, and graduated with honors in forensic investigations. Base Tennis is Rodney’s vision and he has surrounded himself with a team just as enthusiastic as himself.
RUBEN HERRERA, Program Manager
After completing his high school studies in Caracas, Venezuela, he embarked on his journey to the U.S.A on a sporting scholarship. He completed his Bachelor of Science majoring in Communications, and then went on to complete his M.B.A. He has been involved with tennis his whole life and brings years of experience to the team.
JESSICA BECKER, Sponsorship and Marketing
Born in Germany Jessica is fluent in English and German. She completed her Abitur at Montstabor Gymnasium and has spent the last two years working as a professional in London. She will be the point of contact for both the German and UK markets, heading up the administration team.
Advisory Board
To help achieve our goals and fulfill our mission statement Base Tennis has invited a select group of individuals to form an Advisory Board. The Advisory Board’s role is to provide guidance and to ensure that Base Tennis lives up to its full potential.
The CEO of Base Tennis will meet with the Advisory Board on a regular basis to propose new strategies and concepts knowing that invaluable feedback will ensue.
All members of the Advisory Board are keen tennis players and considered aficionados of the sport.
Edgar Rhomberg
Edgar is the owner of the sport hotel where Base Tennis operates out of. He is also a citizen of Canada, where he was the tournament director of an ATP event. He came back to Germany to set-up one of the biggest tennis schools in Europe. It is his wish to leave a lasting legacy and Base Tennis have his full support.
Steven Reynolds
Steve is an avid tennis player and partner of a London City law firm Reynolds Colman and Bradley. When he is not spending his time in central London, you can find Steven at the tennis club working on his own game, or encouraging the next generation to pick up a racquet. He is a tennis activist and has played a large part in the success of tennis in North London.
Rainer Schmidt
Rainer Schmidt was born on the 10.01.1962 in Wirges Germany. After completing his ‘A’ levels in Montabaur he went on to gain his Bachelor of Science Degree in wood engineering at Rosenheim University in 1986. He has since been running a successful and large carpentry firm, with the main emphasis being on technical building elements. He is married with four children.
